Two minutes with Jen Humphries

Meet Jen Humphries for this week's 'two minutes with' chat. Jen has been with Atticus from the start, so she knows everything there is to know about the business.

Jen chats to us about her role in the business, what her typical working day looks like, as well as introducing us to the family dog - Cerys...

Tell us more about your role at Atticus and how you support Atticus' client base

My role is to lead on the finance side of the business, deal with business admin and also undertake some other admin tasks to free up time for the rest of the team to focus on the value adding tasks for our clients.

Alongside this I also assist with land identification by reviewing planning applications to identify potential land opportunities for the team to then progress with clients.

You've been at Atticus since the beginning, what changes have you seen in this time?

Setting up a new business is always a risk and needs hard work and dedication to succeed. With hindsight doing it with a five month old baby was not great timing but sometimes you have to back yourself to succeed!

It’s turned out to be a great decision - year on year, the business has grown - more clients, a growing team, greater experience.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I start the day by walking our dog Cerys! It's good exercise (for us both) and I plan my day. I prioritise what work I need to focus on. Every day is different!

What does the future look like for Atticus and its clients?

From past experience, I can only see Atticus continuing to grow. We have some amazing clients, past and present, who we work very well with.

Business is personal, especially when we put so many hours and a massive effort into making their success our success too! It is so rewarding when the team carry projects into successful completions.

The housing market is ever changing. Paul and the team are incredibly flexible and solution focused, which we feel will continue to benefit present and future clients.
