Two minutes with Tony Stocks

This is our final 'two minutes with' interview and we're speaking to Tony Stocks about his role at Atticus, his career background and what he likes to do when he's not appraising land...

Tell us a little more about your career background, how did you get into housing development?

After leaving university in 1985 I found a temporary summer job through the Job Centre working for the Accommodation Department of Liverpool Polytechnic. My boss, Joe Churton, was a board member at Young Person’s Housing Association and tipped me off about a vacancy there for a Development Assistant. I applied for the job and stayed there for another 22 years!

You could say 'development is in my blood'.

What's your role at Atticus?

I'm primarily responsible for identifying and appraising new housing development opportunities for clients. This is a key early stage to the development process.

What do you like doing at the weekend to relax?

I like putting my walking boots on and getting out into the fresh air. Most evenings I like to chill with my two guitars and extensive 1970s record collection!

What three words would you use to describe working at Atticus?

Honest, informal, friendly.
